Fox's "American Idol" will return for its eighth
season Jan. 13 while medical drama "House" is moving to a
new night, the network said in announcing its midseason lineup.
"American Idol," the singing contest that consistently ranks as TV's most-watched series, is trying to keep the streak going by freshening its formula. A fourth judge, singer-songwriter Kara DioGuardi, joins Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul this year. |

I sometimes tune in after all the auditions because I find those boring and repetitive. It's always hundreds of crappy people with maybe a dozen halfway
decent ones thrown in.

I recorded only the first one, didn't create a season pass though and missed the second show. I made a season pass and will get the rest.

I am so not impressed with the auditions.
Simon and Randy letting that bikini girl thru even though she couldn't sing kinda makes the whole show a joke. |

I am watching it. I don't love it so far, but I watch anyway.
Some of the people are fairly annoying, like with the way they move or "dance" (if that's what they call it). A couple of the guys are pretty good. |

Everything except that Steve Martin song. What was that about? I hope it was supposed to be a joke. |

LOVE Kris Allen, so happy that he won... just a normal down to earth guy.
