And down will come Emma carriage and all. When did that stairway show up? What's up there anyway?

And down will come Emma carriage and allLmao!! I have no idea what's up there. When did everyone stop using the elevator? Why was Liz trying to bring a wheelchair down the stairs? And when Robin was getting Emma ready to go to the doctor why did she put her in the stroller to take her to the car? She really likes to do things the hard way. I always kept my stroller in the trunk and carried my son to the car. But that's just me lol. To much trouble to unfold the stroller, strap the baby in to wheel them 10 feet or so to the car, unstrap them, fold the stroller back up and haul it into the car. |

I haven't been here in a while...I have to ff Robin's scenes now...I can't stand her and how she's acting with PPD. Just looking at her irritates me right now! |

Hi LS! Welcome back.
They have completely ruined the character of Robin and that is exactly what I was afraid they were going to do when I first heard KM was returning. |

As one who has suffered with severe hormonal depression...I can say that people often don't treat it like a real physical issue, but one that is because
someone can't hack things and just needs to snap out of it. It isn't something you snap out of ...I have had other health issues (very large fibroid
tumors...two surgeries with those...etc) and I am no wimp...but hormonal depression is VERY painful and debilitating ...it causes you to lose perspective and
because of the stigmas can make you feel you have to hide it and gut it out. Though there are antidepressants out there...in my experience it just helped in
coping, but didn't resolve the hormonal imbalance...not knocking antidepressants....but they are just to help you level out, they don't fix it.
While its true that people are supporting Robin...and for the record I like Robin...but I don't always like her talking down to people ways...Robin is use to being strong and in control...and now she isn't...that is very scary...unless you have experienced it you don't know what that is like...also...if you are use to being that way it makes it difficult to admit you need help and embarassing...yes, its prideful to be that way...but I would say most of us are the same way...even though there has been more of an acceptance of it being an illness there is still an attiutde that its some character flaw on the person's part and for many, who haven't experienced it an attitude like I would never be that way. The truth is that maybe you don't have the genetic tendency...but if you did you would have the same issues. I think the portrayal has some real true to life things in it...some have been dramatized...I actually think that GH is doing a good job in showing postpartum can last and is not an overnight condition. I know that can get monotonous to watch...but I think they are giving voice to a very real condition. Coming up, when Robin gets in group therapy they actually hired actresses that have had postpartum depression in real life...I was impressed with that. |

LovesJack thanks for sharing your experience with hormonal depression. It's good to know that they are portraying this story somewhat true to life. I'm
interested in the intervention and seeing the actresses that did have PPD. Those should be some good scenes.

Omg Robin was awful to Maxie!

Yes it is a good s/l and I hope they follow thru with it. I say this because of Sonny's bipolar condition. It wasn't followed thru if it had been we
wouldn't be seeing him drinking because he shouldn't drink while using meds and he needs the meds to control his condition. Yes Robin was extremely
nasty to Maxie and it was uncalled for.

I hope they follow through too. When Matt said this can be cured or something to that effect...while it will go away...it can take time and not all people
respond to the first drug they are put on and some not at all ...in fact, I think they are doing a bit of a disservice to women who suffer with this to not
mention that sometimes hormone therapy is exactly what will help...hormone crashing and sensitivity to it (or a prior imbalance or infertility treatments where
women have more hormones pumped into them than normal) is what causes this condition. Robin mentioned briefly hormone therapy, but it was dismissed like it was
not a possible solution...the reality is it is a huge key.
I think Robin being that way to Maxie could happen in postpartum...when you are in that state you can be pretty numb to any good feelings (compassion, etc) and everything else is heightened...and you can fly off the handle really easily and say things you never would normally...in a much more blunt way...plus Robin was trying to get out of dealing with it all ...she felt attacked, so she attacked back...not that that was justified. |

It's somewhat nice that it's being portrayed realistically, but at the same time, it's not a story that interesting to watch to me. Could be
because I couldn't stand Robin before and REALLY can't stand her now, but there's not much to it other than her freaking out and being bitchy.
I read that she goes away (yay!) for treatment and I'm hoping Patrick realizes how happy he is without her and they break up and she goes back to Paris. |

Yes, I guess depression isn't much fun to watch...ha...
I think the last few weeks its been more true to life...she seems spacey, etc...unable to focus or restless...the one thing I don't think is true to life is her being able to work like that...I mean...you can't turn it off and on at will. |

Why are they making Patrick seem so helpless? He has been the one taking care of Emma all this time, he's not doing anything different that he did when
Robin was there. I do like that Matt has moved in to give him a hand, I like the brother bond, but Patrick is more than capable of taking care of his daughter
without Robin.

I thought it was neat that they showed the support group...but kind of wished they could have shown some progression of healing...suddenly Robin's all
better.
I didn't feel like they completely articulated what its like to be in a hormonal depression...but I give GH crudos for acknowledging it. |

I wish they would have shown more progression in her recovery too. But I did like today's scenes because I knew those women had really suffered from PPD
and they were speaking from the heart about their experiences.
